Even the most passionate leaders, activists, or caring neighbors among us need a team - a community of support and collaboration to catch the vision and commit to the cause of peace, justice, and social change. But how do we find these people and bring them on board?
In this 3-hour interactive, participatory workshop, we will:
Reflect on our personal motivations for taking action
Practice telling stories that build bridges and inspire others to act
Introduce and practice a simple framework for having 1-on-1 conversations to organize and invite others
Discuss strategies for hosting for your first house meetings to educate and find partners
This workshop is designed to give new and current community organizers and concerned citizens tools and strategies to share your vision, craft a call to action, and inspire others to believe that change is possible. Drawing on the Public Narrative and organizing frameworks from Marshall Ganz and the Leading Change Network, and infused with wisdom from Kingian Nonviolence and the Momentum Community, our hope is that after this training you will feel ready and empowered to start building your team and growing a movement for change in your own community.
In order to protect the safety of participants and organizers, this workshop will not be recorded. The slides and resources will be shared with all who register.
This training is part of a series of workshops preparing people to organize for justice, resist authoritarianism, and build a better tomorrow. Check out other workshops here.
