Workshops

We believe that learning about peace & conflict transformation is most effective when it’s experiential, interactive, and grounded in real-life reflection. Traditional approaches to Christian teaching and peacebuilding often emphasize intellectual understanding or hierarchical instruction—where one person “dispenses knowledge” to others. While knowledge is valuable, it rarely sticks without engagement, reflection, and practice.

That’s why our workshops and trainings flip that model. They invite participants to experience, reflect, and apply skills in collaborative and interactive ways. By engaging participants’ own wisdom, stories, and experiences, our workshops create lasting, practical learning that equips Christians—and all our friends and neighbors—to build peace in their everyday communities.

Themes & Categories of Our Workshops

Peace Catalyst workshops are organized around key peacebuilding themes, and they can be offered as stand-alone sessions or in multi-day series. Some of our main workshop themes are:

  • Identity, Dignity, & Conflict: Understanding self, others, and the roots of conflict.

  • Conflict as Holy Ground: Learning to see difficult encounters as opportunities for growth and transformation.

  • Negative & Positive Peace: Exploring the difference between the absence of conflict and proactive reconciliation.

  • Dialogue Skills & Group Dynamics: Building empathy, active listening, and collaborative problem-solving.

  • Trauma & Conflict Cycles: Understanding how past experiences shape present conflicts.

  • Mediation & Win-Win Scenarios: Practicing structured approaches to resolving disagreements.

  • Peacebuilding & the Good News: Integrating faith and vocation with practical peacemaking.

  • Customized workshops: Adapted for particular contexts, audiences, or partner needs.
