We talk about “shalom” a lot, and it’s a driving force behind what we do and why. It’s also one of our core values as an organization, so we got our staff together and wrote this post to articulate the centrality of the biblical concept of shalom in how we understand God’s work in the world and our calling as Christians.

Rick Love was a peacemaker with a dream. He wanted to catalyze a peacemaking movement. He wanted Christians to embrace peacemaking and peacebuilding as a critical component of following Jesus. At Peace Catalyst, we are continuing that legacy by establishing the Rick Love Peace Award.

We are excited to announce the launch of a new project to help Christian peacebuilders across the world explore together how we might faithfully and effectively build bridges of understanding, respect, and friendship with neighbors from other social, ideological, and religious groups. The Christian Peacebuilding Network (CPN) is a private learning and networking platform currently housed on Facebook.

We're SO pleased to be offering a 5-week course this Fall specifically focused on Trauma-Sensitive Peacebuilding. We've partnered with the Peace Academy in Bosnia and diverse international instructors to provide a high-quality interactive course to equip you to recognize and respond to trauma in your work.

Food insecurity causes a host of detrimental effects, so much so that in 2017, the city of Louisville identified limited food access as a root cause of long-term health problems, and the city’s refugee community and other vulnerable populations are no exception. Here’s what we’re doing about it.

We at Peace Catalyst see the escalating violence between Israelis and Palestinians, and the increasing deaths on both sides, as reprehensible and counterproductive to any holistic or just peace. As peacemakers who have worked for ten years to build peace between Christians and Muslims, we know that this conflict is very important to both communities, and we understand that there are many passionate perspectives and competing calls for justice.

Support the Uyghur Wellness Initiative. We've developed training materials and recruited mental wellness professionals to volunteer their time to see Uyghur clients in North America, and you can be part of it.

2020 brought new challenges to us all. As Christians whose mission is to sow peace, justice, and reconciliation in our world, these challenges helped remind us of the importance of this work and of collaborating with our partners of all faiths and backgrounds.
