2022 Rick Love Peace Awards

Dr. Rick Love, the late Founder and President of Peace Catalyst International, dreamed of mobilizing people around the globe into a peacebuilding movement. Everyone who knew him knew this was his passion and that he worked tirelessly toward it. He founded Peace Catalyst because of that dream and dedicated the last ten years of his life to peacebuilding, courageously crossing social, political, and ideological divides and inviting others to do the same. He did so because of his Jesus-centered approach to all of life.

To honor Rick’s legacy, to further his vision, and to raise up more peacebuilders like him, Peace Catalyst is establishing the Rick Love Peace Award in 2022, to be presented at Alliance for Peacebuilding’s PeaceCon in January of next year. This award will honor those who creatively cross divides to build peace, exhibiting the same character and courage displayed by Rick.

ABOUT THE AWARDS
We are seeking applications for the following:

  • Rick Love Peace Award ($2,000 awarded to 1 recipient)
Rick was deeply concerned about the deteriorating narratives surrounding Muslims in the United States and globally, and to honor his work and passion, as well as the roots of Peace Catalyst International, one award will be presented to an individual or group working specifically among Christians and Muslims.

  • Rick Love Young Innovators Award ($750 awarded to 2 recipients)
Rick cared deeply about young people and wanted a new generation of peacebuilders to be raised up after him. We therefore hope to offer two awards to young people in university peace programs or elsewhere to jumpstart their work and provide them with a path to living out peace in the way modeled by Rick.

Applications can be submitted here until November 26, 2021.

The 3 awards will be presented at PeaceCon on Thursday, January 27, 2022. Recipients will be highlighted at PeaceCon and featured online by Peace Catalyst and Alliance for Peacebuilding.

In addition to the monetary award, PCI will offer recipients the opportunity to: write about their work and have it posted on the PCI website; be featured on PCI social media platforms; be interviewed on the PCI podcast; and have individual consultation calls with PCI staff who align with their areas of interest.
