Support Multifaith Friendships Through Scriptural Reasoning

All over the world, people from different faith groups are looking for ways to connect with each other across the boundaries of their beliefs - they're looking for authentic relationships built on mutual trust and respect with those who are different from them. In Scriptural Reasoning, people from all backgrounds are given the space to come together for respectful dialogue, where the end goal isn't to learn how to agree, but how to disagree better.

We began this program virtually in the Fall of 2020, with participants from across the country coming together on Zoom to engage in respectful dialogue about various scriptures, organized around topics like marriage, fasting, encountering God, peacemaking, and refugees. We are now also partnering with the Rumi Forum and the Virginia Theological Seminary to host in-person sessions as well. Through each conversation, we're able to understand each other more, allowing us to build relationships founded on listening and respect. Your giving will allow this program to not only continue, but to grow into more groups, with the potential to train new facilitators. Help us to create more spaces like this, where people of different faiths can come together for reflection, dialogue, and - ultimately - friendship.

A donation of $50 per month equals the cost of running one Scriptural Reasoning session every month.

A donation of $100 equals the cost of expanding the program and training one new facilitator.

A donation of $600 equals the cost of running all 12 Scriptural Reasoning sessions for a year.

Your donation WILL HELP catalyze THIS project AND OTHERS like IT in 2022 by supporting this project’s lead, Becca tyvoll. LEARN MORE
