Boarding Schools, Concentration Camps, and the Uyghur Genocide

Are you interested in learning more about the incarceration and persecution of the Uyghur people in Western China?

Uyghurs are being put into the largest concentration camps since the Jewish people were killed during the Holocaust. It’s happening again in China right now, and much of the world is unaware.

We recently interviewed Elfidar Iltebir, the daughter of a prominent Uyghur writer and journalist, an active member of the Uyghur community, and an outspoken human rights activist, and she does a fantastic job of breaking down what's happening and why. This interview also draws parallels between the Chinese re-education camps and the boarding schools in Canada and the US, where governments tried to “re-educate” Indigenous Americans.
